I think that making the cars harder to drive is always a good deal and we will se longer braking distances and a car wanting to puch a lot.

When the fuel burns off the balance will shift somewhat I guess and so the design of the cars to manage the shift from oversteer to understeer, or vice versa, as the race proceeds will be interesting.

Also, I like there to be changes in regs, the cheaper and the more direct acting the better.

The shot above looks like an oversized F3 car. In '97 car bodies looked way 'pointier' and sharper and had no extensions. Now this looks like one of those tunned cars with oversized bumpers, spoilers and skirts but with small 14" wheels.

Although something like VJM would look better.

Also where the blue line is, the buldge from the headrest to the rear of the car will be more pronounced, in addition to this:

Remember the cars have a lengthened gearbox casing at the moment due the engine length reduction in 2005->2006 so it wont be that much, I don't think. The cars already have an extreme wheelbase/width ratio.

excellent point... plus 225kg fuel tank is way excessive, Seb had 53.5kg of fuel and went 18 laps(not including warm up & formation)

extrapolating that for the entire 53 lap race we are talking about more like 160kg, or even 175 adding 10% for having to carry the extra weight of fuel & the 15kg extra ballast in the rules next year. And that is not even taking into account that the teams will be trying to lower fuel consumption in an attempt to lower starting fuel loads and tire wear.

I do not anticipate any team to be starting with more than 150kg of fuel next year.

What is the highest fuel consumption track?

Not sure but I know Suzuka is 2.37kg/5km and Monza is 2.18kg/5km - Spa is 2.25kg/5km.

That gives us, giving that Suzuka was 307km, 145.52kg.

All things considered the cars should end up 12cm longer.
Guess what, my gear system does away with the clutch and gets it back again.

I'm sure they generate much more mechanical grip now then they did with the 2m wide track... its just that the aero has increased so many more times that.

I like the look of the old wide track F1 cars too.
