Max looked quite comfortable in the car all weekend unlike to the 3rd day of test, which means that they must have found something in the simulator to make the v2 floor work.
They also must have found something from Friday to Saturday to make it faster.

Looks like a fast learning curve (or slow start with the new floor, depending on how you phrase it).

Thanks guys, so looks like the v2 floor with the new front wing is indeed working well. Comparing to the Q3 time for RB20, RB21 is ~0.5s faster. That bodes well. And it seems to me that with Max at the helm, RB21 can 'match-up' to MCL39 when the tyres are relatively fresh. The 'tell' that this is indeed the case was the behaviour of the car in sector1 and T9-T10 in Australia. Car does seem to have good traction out of slow corners and is able to handle sudden opposite load shifts laterally, without understeering. Tyre wear is the biggest elephant in the room now (as it was in 2024 as well), because I think the problem with rotation in slow turns is solved (from eyeballing, I admit). Kerb riding is the other issue , which remains to be seen on tracks with big kerbs.

I think 2024 had good tire wear if the tires were in the right window. This car seems to be in the right window.

I think this is a potentially simpler problem to solve (maybe add some downforce?) and that should help already. The car last year had the most downforce of any car and still struggled to keep the tires in a working window.
