Why are Piastri and Max taking the slow lane to the front of the pitlane.... It's not allowed anymore

No one is in Mclaren's world in the 1st sector. The combined sectors of Norris and Piastri places them 4 tenths clear of Mercedes in FP3.

Does this MCL39 even know what understeer is? Even the front of the Mercedes starts to give out in the 2nd part of spoon. The Mclarens are up on the inside curb. It is just mental.

George and the Ferrari's didn't have a second lap put in, so the sector times are a bit more exaggerated than you believe. But yeah, Mclaren are faster but won't mean much because the track will be green tomorrow.

The track was "green" in Australia.

It sure was but I'm not jumping to any conclusions until tomorrow.

Norris will get a 2nd run to make up for it...

I don’t post a lot here but this is a moment I can’t let by. Anyone ever saying again Max can only perform in the best car is proven wrong again. What an unbelievable performance

Great lap by Verstappen, and not having the best car on P1 makes things a lot more interesting, of course. Russell looked competitive as well, and may benefit from the green track tomorrow.

Tire wise there are some differences as well, but I guess a 1-stop looks likely anyway

The great one does it again. The McLaren drivers are just not totally convincing. Hopefully we get a race tomorrow morning.

Bearman, Hadjar, and Antonelli are going to be in F1 for a very long time.
