Currently raining, 11am local/3 hrs to race start.
It's damp but already starting to dry in some parts. The main road leading into the circuit is pretty dry now.langedweil wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025, 04:10Currently raining, 11am local/3 hrs to race start.

Yeah I knew it would be at worst damp, but overall nothing too crazy. The Mclaren's tires should last a good while but so will the Mercedes.ispano6 wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025, 04:28It's damp but already starting to dry in some parts. Which weather radar are you reading, just curious?
Japan's weather forecast shows Southern Mie prefecturer will see more rain around 4-4:30pm local time. Suzuka Circuit is showing very light rain from 4pm, but not much between 2pm-4pm. Maybe spitting rain toward the end of the race.
It's always one thing to be stuck in dirty air within 2 seconds whole race and then lapping in clear air though. Totally could have seen them when comfortably by 10s if not for VER.
There would be no difference. These 2025 cars seem very poor for overtaking. Oscar would need to come within 0.3 seconds of Max to pass. What I think happens is that clean air in P-1 is more effective for the similarly paced cars to stay ahead. Redbull has pace, not a poor car by any means, but the clean air is probably making things look better than they are. Similar to Lewis winning the sprint.Tvetovnato wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025, 08:10Severely mismanaged race by McLaren, looking like last year all over. Let Piastri have a go if Norris can’t.
