To much risk. 1 out of 3 is not worth it.

God. Some of you really are insufferable. Then he will do a good race or something and everyone will call it the drive of the century. As a point of note he's been mostly qualifying better than piastri so far this season but piastri hasn't received the same hate?

Lando is turning into Checo Perez! Thank goodness we have two top drivers!
It's 2 each in 4 qualifying sessions!

Piastri messed up sector 1 last week, qualified 3rd. It can happen.

He is super dejected on interview as well. Taking full blame and stating he has no idea why he couldn't go quicker.
Doesn't really bode well.

It’ll be a blood bath if/ when Verstappen finishes ahead of him tomorrow.
Let’s be honest… Verstappen will be in front of him by the end of lap one anyway…

I guess the FP dominance is just that, huh. Well done by Osc, I was getting worried but man, Lando needs to get it together sooner than later, hopefully he has a good race tomorrow.

Solid job by the team, Piastry will need to clear Russel in turn 1 and from there I think he will be able to control the race, where Lando will have a lot of work tomorrow, one mistake into turn 1 and the lap was done.

What I'm worried about is that Norris has a lot of problems so far this season when he is trying to pull the max of the car, and I know the team said they are working on it, but it seems like it is a fundamental issue vs Norris skills and it might last all season long.

I feel for Norris. He is super fast but he lacks that mental stability. Painful to see him afterwards, but it does not bode well for the future.

Lando can never manage a clean Q3. He will never be a champion.
That's a small sample size. We're only in round 4 and he had, what, at least 8 poles last year.

Lando has been saying all along this car hasn't felt comfortable, Oscar much less so. This isn't to make excuses for Lando but the two drivers have distinctly different styles, Oscar is really gelling with this car and bringing the consistency which he had through the middle 8 or 10 races last year but lost at the end. At the moment he is looking like the faster driver with good credentials to challenge for WDC. Early days.

Also my thoughts. Formula 1 is transforming into football, where the team fans are starting blaming own players from the first minute. If they are losing are the worst players. If a win is on then are the best in the world. Sad.

Except the difference is....Piastri didn't qualify under the top 3

It's sad too if some of us who have been regulars here choose which posts we redo and don't read based on whether they are regular wheezers. With over 100 pages and less than a sixth of the season gone this is going to be a huge thread when people just come on and vent. The DTS syndrome???

With the best car on the grid you would expect 1-2 to be easy.
Is Lando cracking under pressure?!
The only positive for tomorrow is that other have tyre deg,but it won't be easy for Lando being in the pack!

I saw this the other day, I'm not expert on these things but guessing it's part of the problem for Lando.

"Hi GP. Both but it’s a common distinction in driving styles. Into slow corners Norris’ style is shallower entry with some braking overlap. If the car’s working well and the tyres are robust enough for the track, it’s the faster way with these cars. See also Moss, Clark, Prost, Mansell, Schumacher, Verstappen. But if the front tyres are marginal it promotes graining.

Piastri’s is a more geometric approach with later turn in, less reliance on the brakes. See also Rindt, Peterson, Berger, Senna, Hakkinen etc."
