Why would they be? Upgrades are banned.
Software updates are always allowed and hardware upgrades are allowed under the guise of reliability. Everyone will use the loophole where they can.
I expect Colapinto to replace him by midseason
Maybe they should resurface the track to make the current F1 cars look mega quick just like they did with Suzuka. Now, imagine if the 2005 GP was ran at night, what would Pedro de la Rosa´s record be?!

may happen, but just to mention it: McLaren's used tires were only one (out-)lap old at that point, used when the red flag came out. Ferrari's and Red Bull's were used for a hot lap before.AR3-GP wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 20:13I feel like people just don't get it, still. This is the real picture of what is going to happen tomorrow because after the first lap on the tire where everything feels "amazing", the tire will now be a "used tire"...
Regardless of what happened in qualifying, there's already evidence that Mclaren can drive 1 second quicker on used tires. We saw it in Australia. We will see it tomorrow.
That is what we want, most people watching don't know lap times from previous years but do know how good is to have mixed grid.Downforce777 wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 19:51As I understand it, the cars were not able to show their potential because of the old asphalt, it no longer has any grip, these cars could have been closer in time to 2019, but in fact they lost 2 seconds in time
