No point saving soft tyres for nothing so why not use them as Martin said. It paid off last time to get Alonso out and it’s done the same again here. As for Q3 thats still out of the question so they lose nothing and gain positions and maximise tyre usage since they would never get out of Q2 anyway

Looking at the speeds through turns 25 and 26 down to 27 for ALO vs TSU ...ALO is easily 5 KPH slower.

Means they're not creating enough DF from the floor and having to use more beam wing.

He didn’t even complete the lap that he got that slipstream from Doohan because he was already through. Both used 3 sets and only ALO could make it work so kudos. (Technically Alonso got through on 2 sets)

ALO got a really good slip stream from Ferrari on that last lap...still didn't help.

They're just losing too much time in S3, especially in that turn 25,26,27.
