Still no news of Kimi?

Rumours abound of Rubens going to Williams. Actually, a single Brazilian TV commentator has triggered speculation with a single Twitter comment! That move would open a seat at Brawn for Kimi.

The best explanation I can find is that the Brawn drivers wouldn't let speculation ruin their title chances. Otherwise Rubens or Jensen saying "I'm leaving" would be met with "OK, we'll ensure the other driver gets the WDC".

We'll have to get the WDC and WCC sorted before the results of the diver merry-go-round is confirmed.

Also the PR guys will be managing this so each team gets its moment in the spotlight. There will be a calendar on some PR wall noting who says what and when... how frustrating, we want to know NOW!

I think the Toyota rumours are way off-base. They haven't made an announcement about their budget yet, they probably won't have a winning car next year which is what Raikkonen really wants and I'm not exactly enamoured with Howett as a team boss and I can't believe what comes out of his mouth.

I'd like to see Kimi in the same car as Kobayashi, that would be interesting.

I thought this was funny....

Kimi will do what he pleases and where he pleases, cause where ever he goes he will be happily accepted. After all, he is the iceman!

well then, it's a money matter. I'd rather Kimi went for a more proven team but perhaps Toyota can step up? Who knows.

Regardless of how much Toyota offers If I was McMErc I would not offer him any more than what I was paying Hamilton... he could take the money and go to the midfield with Toyota or he could get what will probably be a race winning ride at McMerc for lower pay... he is after all still being paid by Luca and his band of idiots.

The idea of Kimi not wanting to do promo days is absurd.

much as I am an admirer of kimi , how can he be worth even as much as hamilton ?
don't think there is a lot in it driving wise but there are other factors in their worth to a team , and here kimi is not in the same league

drivers bring in sponsors , and here hamilton has proved a dream for big mac ...even to the extent that a certain spanish bank , having paid for alonso's seat at ferrari , have renewed their sponsorship to keep hamilton ; alonso has value in spanish speaking countries , but world wide ...not much
frankly kimi has little value out of the drivers seat ..we fans tend to see things through biased eyes , but has joe public is the man who pays the bills in the end , and that's what sponsors look at ..and there hamilton is king

Actually, the reason why Santander (the largest bank in the Euro area, and the largest of Europe after HSBC suffered a lot more the economic crisis) decided to renew their sponsorship... with McLaren... is because trademark awareness in the UK has gone from 20 to 80%. Yes, in the UK, which is not the whole world. Saying that Santander renewed that sponsorship for world coverage is stretching those facts.

And Santander has paid for Alonso's seat no more than Johnny Walker paid for Kimi and Vodafone for Lewis. It hasn't been proven otherwise.
I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.

hate to tell you this miguel ,but talking to friends from all around the world , hardly any of whom are interested in F1 [ we share a different interest ] , I don't think one of them has heard of alonso or kimi ....but every one of them is aware of hamilton , even the chauvanistic americans

and an increase of 20% to 80% in the uk is an extraordinary increase in brand awareness , is it not ? so job done ...why carry on putting more money into the hamilton brand if it just has an effect in the UK ? botin knows his business !

It's mean to call your friends names behind their backs. #-o None of my friends are interested in F1 or any racing for that matter, and the only person they may have heard of is MS. Anyway, I sincerely hope Kimi doesn't go to Toyota. I hope he goes to McLaren or Red Bull, even though Christian labels that a baseless rumor. Anywhere but Toyota!
Best regards. I guess this explains why I'm not at my post!

This American has a fascination for F1 that none of my friends care the least about.
There are a lot of us, (visit speed tv’s forum) of course generally much less informed then Brits, and the rest of Europe.
I participated in sports at the collegiate level, and most of my friends are Jocks (or ex jocks I'm in my 50's)
Let me get to my point. I'm old enough to know that sports at the professional level is a competition first.
then a business.
Because if there wasn't an interest in wanting to know, or watch the outcome of a competition.
You can't turn it into a business excepting pro wrestling [-X
So I say let the chips fall where they may. Kimi will end up somewhere.
And the business end of the sport will figure largely in that,
but that has to be left to the thieving Lawyers :^o
