I guess they realised just how unqualified Vat was and how empty his platform was as well.

Not a huge fan of Todt, but if he can remain impartial then he was the much better choice... plus we already know he can get the job done when it come to organization, look what he helped do with the spaghetti management over at SF.

I like his idea of commissioners for each series and his Steward's review group and his call for a review of the FIA court of appeals.

Any news as to who his F1 commish will be?

If there is any hope in this result it is that Jean Todt has always delivered totally for whoever he works for. His loyaly and commitment to his 'employer' has been absolute. Before Ferrari he was the same for Peugeot.

It is quite likely that he will be totally impartial and do the best job within his power on behalf of the FIA.

I don't like the man, but I do sense that he play it absolutely straight.

I think the days of 'Ferrari International Assistance' have passed now that the F1 teams as a group have aligned themselves under FOTA - the politics and centre of gravity have changed.

Michael Schumacher? I don't think so. He would have to quit his role with Ferrari. I cannot imagine he would like such a job.

Joe Saward makes a lot more sense with his hint that Todt will probably draft in an experienced ex CEO of a big international corporation.
