hi everyone

i am currently doing my 3rd year of automobile engineering and i am taking part in a Formula 1 car aero design competition. in order to design my car i need basic knowledge on CFD. i have completed basic course work on fluid mechanics and automotive aerodynamics.

how do i start studying CFD because none of the online tools are helpful...
what basic course work should i complete....

I do not know if you took any course of numerical methods or numerical fluid mechanics. if not I would suggest them, as well as some more advance fluid dynamics and aero courses. I hope you have access to some.

Which competition is this?

Try solidworks flowworks if you have access to it.
It is not as powerful a CFD tool as fluent or other CFD software but it is pretty easy to learn and user friendly.
