Strange adverts... yes up there ^^^

Post

Those Google ads up thee are puzzling sometimes. Two recent ones caught my eye:

"Do you like Palin" - why do Google think that relevant to F1?

"Book tickets now for the 2009 Monaco Grand Prix" - As if that will give us confidence in the tour operator now it is Oct 09!

The google bot is always here, watching and listening.

The ads showed up when we started talking about politics in the FIA FOM thread.

Yeah, those are also basic on your history of navigation... I believe (and location)... doesn't a crush on Palin or some nostalgy rides (to past grand prix?) ring you any bell?

YOU FASCIST REPUBLICAN! Just joking! It's amazing just how much data Google stores about peoples habits. Kinda scary if you think about it.

Facebook decided I was Norwegian for some reason (Canadian) and my ads there were in Norwegian for months.

So if you are correct we should start talking about kittens and pretty flowers in order to brighten up this website.

Google's slogan is "do no evil". It tells quite a bit.

They store a lot of info about our navigation habits and that unsettles me a bit. Maybe Sarah Palin is the poster dreamgirl for many F1 fans, but in any case I would really like to know what the nerds in Google are doing with your computers...

OK I admit I've been researching a fantasy scene where the reason Button was running up the straight after Monaco 09 was because he was being hunted by Sarah Palin with her gun in hand.... or was it the other way around, him chasing her to rid the world of Palin?

Damn dreams they fade so fast ;)

(ps no nudity was involved, no animals harmed)
