Size for Raikkonens steering wheel?

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Size for Raikkonens steering wheel?

Post

Hi there!
My son for 5 wants me to make him a formula 1 steering wheel.
The wheel would be Raikkonens.
I now that the size is very individual for the drivers but what can the diameter be about?

Is there any picture out there?

In some material I got from Williams they said that diameter of steering wheel was 10 inches which probably isn’t changed much since.

Perhaps this will help you in construction even though it is not Mclaren's http://www.gurneyflap.com/Resources/volant.jpg

Thanks!
Exactly what I was looking for.

I’m out now to the garage and starting to saw one. It’s going to look one that I had in my parents car when I was 5, 1967 one with a stick who you put between the front seats and a pillow to stabilize it. There was not much safety thinking at that time. My kiddo are not going to used it in the car of course.

Just make sure that he doesn’t find out about “drink button” ‘cause than you’ll have to add bottle for juice, switch, pump, straw…
