Boy... that Yas Marina is one pristine circuit. The race kinda felt like one very long F1 commercial. And yes it turned out to be a bit of an anticlimactic race. I did enjoy watching the race. But only as a venue spectacle.

In terms of the race, the only part that really caught my attention was the Webber/Button battle during last few laps. Webber really impressed me... but not the doughnuts after the race... although that was cool, it was the way he was placing his car to keep Button at bay. That impressed me as the style of a calm cool driver. He didn't do anything wrong and there wasn't even a hint of panic from him. Rather Senna-esque if you will.

Ironically, although the racing was quite unremarkable, save a few scrapy moments, I did enjoy watching. Nice venue, nice time of day. And oh yeah... best damn helicopter shots all season.

It was like Vettel and Mark were slapped with a pile of bricks!
When this was first posted, I wanted to respond "Vettel is going overtake Ham-bone during the first pitstop and beat him silly" but I decided to wait until it actually happened. It's happened now, so I can only say "eat it!" Ham-hock never had a chance, and I wish he didn't have a brake problem because then he would have been properly beaten down by Vettel. A later post states that a viewer was "robbed" of viewing the alleged race battle between Vettel and Hamilton, but I know, this and that person knows, and everyone else knows that Hamilton had 0% chance of beating Vettel.
Vettel beat hamilton?
Check the lap times again. Then realize Hamilton was strugling on 3 brakes, with a compromised Kers system and compromised brake ballance.
Had Lewis car been ok, it would have still been 0.449s a lap up to the pit stop.
So in summary Lewis' brake problem gave the illusion Vettel was gaining. When in fact were Vettel to come up on Hamilton, who is on 3 wheels, He still would not be able to pass him.
Good race by Vettel anyway; I could see how relieved he was to not have to face the BOSS.
For Sure!!

Stop with all those damned facts Ringo, none of the Vettle fans or especially the Hamilton haters want to hear any of that.

Or the FACT that Hamilton had a 2 second gap by lap 7

Or that you could see his brakes locking up as early as lap 2

Or that he told Peter Windsor that his brakes never worked properly from the start of the race.

It actually saddens me to see Kimi leave Ferrari because it means he might be gone for good. Shame that such a young guy with his talent may not have a place in Formula 1 next year. It won't be the same without him.

So you are still falsifying quotes. Some never change their bad ways. A very disgusting habbit. Have some bad karma please! Like a cubic meters of pig sh°t over your head in your next life as a dung beatle. You do deserve the treat. *smootch*

Maybe hamilton's problem has due to the general set-up of his car. Maybe its just good for qualifying and not enough for the whole race distance. It probably developed during the latter part of the first stint. Early radio conversation tells hamilton that vettel is catching a bit and he should push a little for the needed gap. You don't do that if you're sure you have a brake problem. He had similar problems before in other races. Excellent qualifying speed, but not good for race distances. Was planets away from everybody in qualifying in Canada 08 leaving everybody wondering where he got the grip in the decaying chicane, but tire or brake problems during the race started during the first stint and robert and kimi started to catch till luckily the safety car intervened. Anyway its a shame for lewis, could have been a better race. Well done Vettel.

WhiteBlue and Pup, please calm down. And if anyone here needs a 'treat' it's you WB. That 'f*ck-everyone-who-is-not-German/anglosaxon' comment is unnaceptable.

This GP is the MOST beautiful prestigious GP I've ever seen. So beautiful!

The race was good but not amazing. The track is very very wide. Feels like a perfect beautiful F1 Colosseum.

I was expecting Hamilton to have a runaway race as he was so good all weekend but unfortunately that was not the case.

So congrats to Vettel. He is good and proven again to be better than Webbo. I hope there is a continuity in 2010 for Redbull's performance, coz I wanna see Vettel fighting at the top.

Do you know Zappa's Bobby Brown? And all the girls ....

It is friend Pup who is laying the fuses and poisons the wells. He used to do this years ago in another forum and he is awefully good at making things look ass to face. It makes me want to puke.

Please substantiate "'f*ck-everyone-who-is-not-German" against my post! You have no leg to stand on.

I love how everyone talking about Vettel is saying he's miles ahead of Webber, and that he's proven to be much better than him. Did all of you forget that Webber had a COMPOUND fracture in his left leg coupled with shoulder injuries?? The fact that he's even in an F1 car competing at the top level is amazing in it's own right. I've known people that have had that happen and can barely walk decent after 8 months or so. Some of you people need to come back to real life. Geez.

That very well might be true, but lets not forget that horrible accident Mark had in the offseason, or the extra weight he still carries in his leg, or most importantly that Seb had much more preseason testing seat time than MarK. I am not ready to put a line thru Webbo's name yet.

With the extra 20kg of ballast next year making it "more equal" for the heavier drivers(mark is a good 10 to 15kg heavier) and the added element of tire conservation that the full fuel loads will introduce I think Mark just might have a chance against Seb next year.... or maybe not.
