A new race series for this year the a1gp it sounds more a busines than a real racing ones, it's a nations world cup of motorsport set during the winter between september and april and it's a monoclass lola chassis and zytek engine with about 520bhp with races set in circuits now out of f1 like brands hatch or estoril, also circuits like laguna seca and esater creek

so what do you think of that new series? the web is http://www.a1gp.com

I think it's going to be great! Especially if Ralph Firman gets the drive for Team UK because he did most of the testing. I'm going to the first race at Brands in September. Ticket was only £29 and there's quite a good programme. Look how patriotic people are, everyone go's nuts during the World Cup, it brings the country to a standstill. The Olympics too, everyone gets behind their country and gets interested (Look at allthe fuss over Kelly Holmes). So a formula billed as "The World Cup of Moptorsport" that is during the F1 off season should be a massive success, and get people interested in Motorsport.

Me and a friend were "picking" away at their rules, the website and the cars. From a personal standpoint I think the aero and body design on the car is hideous... but they do have some very cool rules similar to karting where there is a sprint and feature race each with two different start methods, standing and rolling.

I’ve seen race held in Germany on TV and… it is boring just as world series by Renault. Cars appear too slow and except crashes there is nothing going on. Only interesting thing was competition in clumsiness of mechanics during tyre changes. I don’t know why but almost all teams had problems screwing and unscrewing wheel nuts…

Boring!
