Two US F1 team trailers have been put up for sale on eBay. The trailers were originally purchased from Brawn GP, and were planned to be used for the 2010 season. However, when USF1 ran into difficulties just weeks before the start of the season, which were discribed by the team as "serious economic and funding challenges", they were unable to make the grid in Bahrain.

I'm dead serious. If they show up at Barber for a test session and it's open to the public I'm going. And another guy I work with will too. I'll probably never get to see an F1 car in person at the rate the economyis going and there is no future plans for a USGP. So this might be my only chance. It's only a few hours drive from here too.
I read some news that the test will be privat and no public will be admitted.

I have read about some rumours in Argentina that USF1 will contract ex-F1 engineer Enrique Scalabroni, and while looking for more information i found this:

In 1988 he left the team and tried to buy Brabham but the deal ended up in a legal wrangle, although Windsor ended up being awarded $2m in damages. In 1990 he became head of Ferrari's Guildford Technical Office but a year later went back to Williams as team manager. In 1993 Windsor went to America hoping to set up an Indycar team but when that did not happen he established a new F1 team with Japan's Tetsu Ikuzawa and Enrique Scalabroni. This opened a drawing office in Basildon, Essex, but never found the money to build the cars. Windsor then returned to the F1 media and has been working for Speed TV for several years

Right, so the guy has been trying to build an F1 team since the 90s.

A year later he was dropped but reappeared as technical director of Team Lotus in December 1990. By August the following year he had departed and the following autumn was named as chief designer of the Il Barone Rampante F1 team. The car was never built and in April 1992 he joined Peugeot Sport to work on the sportscar program. He left the team in May 1993 but popped up again in F1 in the middle of 1994 when he was hired to design a car for Ikuzawa International. That project also failed to get off the ground and he was later linked to another abortive F1 program by the Durango team. While continuing to have F1 ambitions Scalabroni worked as a freelance designer in the junior formula and also in road car design, being involved in the De Tomaso Mangusta in 1999. In 2000 he led Asiatech in its takeover of the Peugeot Sport engine programme and became technical director. There were plans to start a full F1 team but the money could not be found and at the end of 2002 the company closed down and Scalabroni joined a new Formula 3000 team called Barcelona Competicion, acquiring the assets of Nordic Racing.
And so did Enrique. This shows that both are people with a great determination. Wish them luck.

I think Mr. Scalabroni would be a great asset for the team. It seems he has a lot of experience... even if USF1 is a PR disaster, maybe the engineering side is not so much. We will see in a couple of days.

I really dont know if they are a PR disaster... seriously.
I all the forums I know people talks more about them than any other thing...
Well, I would say yes up until Christmas. Must be ahrd to sell to sponsers when the troll is telling the world he doesn't think you will have a car. However, I think they are making great strides now, but they still are publicizing enough!

Contrary to popular opinion, there is such a thing as bad publicity. Especially when you're creating that publicity yourself. It just shows that you haven't a clue about how to present your business to the public.
And if you can't figure out how to present your own business to the public, why on earth would I, as a sponsor, think you'd do any better with my brand?
I disagree that they have created the bad press. They just haven't been proactive to get out any kind of info on the team or proof that they have made progress. When that happens, it allows those who are aginst or think your attempt is futile to ridicule you.
I think they have realized that mistake and are starting to ramp up. If only there was any way to get the US media to pay attention...

Maybe all of this noise is part of their plan, there is a thin line between being a genius or being stupid. It's an interesting experiment. We know more about USF1 than any other new team, that's for sure. I only want to see their car

Maybe they've gotten a shitload of money from Chad over at youtube, and are not overly worried about another sponsor, and are furiously trying to design and build a car?

Do you have a link to that news? Cause if it's true they won't be allowing anyone there from the public I'll be very disappointed. This is my only chance I can see of getting close to an F1 car and hearing it.

Sorry, but I don't remember the source any more. It came up on F1newsnow. They have so many stories popping up that it must be 5 or 6 pages back by now and I can't find it. I checked my usual German sites and their stories did not carry it. So for this time I cannot give you the source. Just take it as a warning that the first test may be non public. I would verify it with USF1 if you intend to drive down there.
