That figures. You gonna introduce those fan-discs as well I guess, which xplains the promised USF1 "innovations"?

Still better than birds droppings, aren't they?

By the rate of change you apply to your dogmas we will have to rename this thread to "Windsor - F1's all convenient bashing target".

My breath stopped when you considered the heresy of a resource cap 2011-2012.

I'm going to call your collective bluff on this.

Transverse gearbox - where did this rumour originate from? I can only see one blog, followed by speculation in this thread. I'd be surprised if the team have gone so radical so soon in their development. Or perhaps Ken has a strong background in that sort of drive train and preferred to stick with what he knew?

Coil springs - This came from examination of one detail of one pic in this thread. When you look at the full picture you see the same symbol for the tyres. It's a symbol. #-o

Height adjustment - Man with spanner turns dial by 1/4 turn in pit stop, probably a preset mechanism so no worry about error in the rush of a pit stop. Its been talked about on the forum since last Nov/Dec? So what's the worry?

So, the first two are speculation, and likely to be false. Unless Ken has only ever done transverse boxes? The third is common sense (once you know about it).

Hi, I've found this:

"...López comenzará a trabajar los primeros días de febrero. El 6 o 7 viajará a Austria para realizar unas pruebas en un simulador y posteriormente se trasladará a los Estados Unidos. En ese país, el 15 estará en la sede del USF1 para que el equipo le confeccione la butaca del auto y del 25 al 28 se instalará en el autódromo de Alabama para probar, por primera vez, el auto con el que correrá el campeonato mundial."

"...Lopez will start working in early February. On the 6th or 7th he'll move to Austria to run tests on a simulator and afterwards go to the US. There, he'll visit the team's headquarters for seat fitting on the 15th and testing for the first time from the 25th to the 28th"

so according to this, the first tests will be on February 25th

Hmmmmmm. Have they actually built the whole car yet and are they any closer to a recognised crash test that they have to pass?

That's odd, because the IRL is having an open test 24-26 and NESBA have the track booked 27-28. However, those are the dates of the Barcelona test. Journalistic confusion? or USF1 giving up on Barber?

Maybe they won't have Lopez do the shakedown. Is it necessary for him to perform that role? Perhaps they'll just get a random american youngster to shakedown the car at Barber. /speculation.

Has there been a car built to shakedown? As far as I can see a complete car has not been built and it has yet to pass any crash test.

Moderator, please reject such posts in future. There's no place for common sense in this thread. More mindless bashing, please!
