huh?

They have Lopez and possibly another driver: http://www.racer.com/adrian-valles-set- ... le/163070/

I think a lack of news is a good thing, no time to interrupt the staff for photo shoots or video making, they're hard at work. I think we'll see them in Bahrain.

Adrian Valles...wow.. :wtf:

The last thing USF1 need is another no-name driver. If they get to Bahrain, they really will be the rookie team, won't know there arse from the elbow, two drivers who will have no idea whether the car is any good, or what to do next. If they had signed a real driver like Wurz, I could see that faint chance that it may all work out, but this.. no way

I must say, despite all the rumours and lack of confidence in USF1, i really were rooting for them, sometimes i think their videos and pictures have given people ammunition for doubt...when this kind of behind the scenes exposure is what ive been wanting from F1 teams for a long time..

but if they are signing 2 rookies....well...they arn't going to fair well regardless of what kind of car they produce.

They must be skint if they need two middle of the road GP2 drivers with cash...

Hope they make it and would love to see them finish the season. If the 107% rule comes back I reckon they'll be in trouble..

It makes sense from a business perspective. The car is likely to be crap the first year anyway, why waste money on expensive drivers when you can have cheap/pay drivers. Take the first year as a learning experience and time to drum up support in the states. Americans like an underdog. As long as they aren't a total laughing stock, there will be more interest and more money so they can go after better drivers at a later date.

If Vallés had much cash, he wouldn't have been driving in GP2 for the teams he drove (Campos, FMS...).

Actually, he raced GP2 Asia in 2008 for FMS and ended the championship just 3 points behind a Kobayashi guy that was racing for DAMS and that now seems to be one of Formula One's most overrat... admired racers.

Can't wait for the March issue to arrive at my mailbox to read the article. Nothing particularly impressive on these drawings, but a concern on making slim sidepods, by the look of the radiators and placement of the exhaust. Does the gearbox look that short?

The digital issue of RCE is out.

If someone wants to read the article, you can do it here:
http://www.zinio.com/reader.jsp?issue=4 ... t&prev=sub

Here is how you can read it if you don't have subscription:
  • Go to the index page (click once the right arrow from the top navigation menu, or choose the index page button)and click the image of the story or the page number (10).
  • The first 2 pages are with the images already posted, no need to zoom.
  • Using the navigation menu go to page 12&13.
  • You have 3 zooms, so they are enough to read the whole article, just don't zoom anything else.
This works for any article, so if you want to read something else, just skip the USF1 :P

Just had a thought that may be totally stupid and off course, but might USF1 be going the transverse gearbox route in order to shorten up the wheelbase and make the care more nimble on the twisty, high downforce tracks? Would it be worth sacrificing diffuser performance in order to make these gains?

Have we already discussed this in the 111 preceding pages?
