Hi LegendaryM, I was going to look at your 3D thing you put on Uploading.com, but every day I've tried it just says: Uploading limit reached, ehrn I havn't ever used the site. Is there another site you could upload it to, or fix the problem? Thanks.

The reason i havent posted any updates for a while is because im working on my 2011 car, which i am designing from scratch to take into account the fuel tank, engine and gearbox.
Here is a picture of the current chassis design, which is by no means finished

also can someone tell me a reasonable length for an f1 gearbox

Working on the 2011 car already? 2010 season hasn't even started yet. Oh well better to be over prepared than under prepared. The car's looking good so far, I like the nosecone. You still going to keep updating the 2010 car though, right?

and how is the driver gonna fit in there?

Though i gotta love how you think, just try it, maybe go over the limits and try to find the limits, cant wait for the car.
Although i maybe have a few suggestions:
-Maybe a nose with splitter producing downforce and guiding air to the intakes
-An transversal gearbox, this is a part that doesnt matter as it wouldnt disrupt the diffuser wich is behind it.
-Low CofG, red bull style crashbox, make good use of this center 15cm
-Low nose, due to the ban of double deck diffusers the airflow to the rear wing will become more important, therefore an high nose is useless, it reduces front downforce and places weight up higher.
-Maybe rear wing end plates not on full height and a cut out in it for yaw performance.
-Really tight rear sidepods, you want as much air to the rear wing.
-Shark fin in full length
-The oil cooler maybe in the splitter or something, the splitter catches cooling air for the oil cooler, thus removing the need to put it high and also removes the cooling needed there thus increasing air to the rear wing.

Here are the nose design's I have so far - at first I intended to have a low nose but the RB5 early 2009 had a thin, high nose which worked well with a single deck diffuser

the first one looks like an clowns shoe lol.

Anyway, i think you should come up with a medium height nose with splitter under it and also maybe an medium thicknes and a little bit fatter.

good looking nose.

Also what im thinking now is that you are able to use pushrods instead of pullrods rear as now you dont have to think about the second deck

Lengendary... sorry I missed your post on my topic.... The dimensions I've used are as follows:- I'm not suggesting that these are right, only that they are in the right ball park.....

Re: My F1 car

Hello everyone I am in need of some serious help, I have attempted to contact every F1 team and no one has even bothered replying to me, I am currently in my final year of university and my dissertation is based on studying a current F1 underbody and diffuser then developing them, as I can see by your work you are all very comfortable with these areas of the cars. my question is does anyone have either technical drawings of a F1 underbody and diffuser that has been or is currently in use or a CAD file, A CAD file would be so much more helpful, but I will settle for either lol.

any help would be greatly appreciated. please send anything you can spare to jlogan223@hotmail.com.
