Can someone remind me why Hammy is now called THE BOSS?

I think ISLAMATRON may have started it, but he was definitely one of the ones to keep it carrying forward. He may have started it for n_smilke, who unlike most blind fans, can see, and keeps his Hamboyism realistic and in check. There is not a hidden meaning or agenda to the name.

I just like the name so much I repeat it when I see it.

He is one of the few drivers who puts in such incredible performances, that even his critics can't say much when he dominates.

Most superior sportsmen or musicians get a name like that. Gretzky is The Great One, Elvis was The King, and Bruce Springsteen, well, he was The Boss too.

New vents on top of the sidepods? (near where wing mirror ends on pic 1)

Old vents - they've been using them on and off. Ditto the vents underneath the vodafone in the second picture, immediately left from the wing mirror. They seem to be ways of reducing the amount of airflow through the sidepods, similar to the way they used to partially block them off.

Still one hole no one else seems to have picked up on is the square holes in the back of the wing mirrors. Any ideas what they're for?

That first picture also shows just how undercut the side pods are - quite incredible how tightly packaged that car is, slim but very long.

I was thinking the very same thing. Really good picture. It sort of looks like the core running through the car (if that makes any sense, like a bullet if you took off the sidepods!) with the rear not being that much wider than the nose. What little there is of the side pods end very quickly too.

It was suggested they were for tyre monitoring (on one of the other cars).

I can not take credit for it... I just liked it so I use it... I think its quite funny actually...

Glad to see this thread may finally be back on topic... Those sidepods are much more undercut than I had previously noticed on any other pics... an update maybe? or still the same from launch?

The holes in the mirrors are camaras or maybe tire temp sensors.

They seem to be closing off that top most cooling vent more and more... but it was very cold early on in testing yesterday.

already discussed earlier in the thread, it is probably a removable panel between the BOSS sticker and the M in Mobil 1

I believe the engine cover has changed. The diameter of the section heading to the rear wing has been reduced, possibly in response to the restriction in the secondary air intake channel.

Can anyone find a better picture to confirm this?

EDIT: Frankly, it's too hard to tell from older pictures, so maybe not.

Possibly. It does look slightly different, but the eye plays tricks. I still don't like them bulges. Never have done since the car was launched. The car is certainly fast (still not sure at all how fast relative since no one wants to show anything) but I still firmly believe even the small effects of packaging will be critical over a race distance with the weight they're carrying.

Seems from this picture that the fin/cover diameter has remained the same even with the air intake upper part cover.I could be wrong though...
