Lotus T127 Cosworth

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Love the quote be HK: For sure, we can improve - just by looking at the car I could probably improve a few things; I'm sure we will be able to do this but it'll just take a little time. :)

I've first seen that in 2007 I think, only in testing.

It has been suggested that rookie drivers have the green light.

It is for rookies, and di Resta was testing.

Earlier when going through today's images I saw the Lotus with a cooling fan on the floor...

Then I found this image that shows a hole on the floor. What could cooled through there??

Electronics would be the most obvious answer, other teams have ducts there too.

The green light is said to be seen more readily in the rain/foul weather... we've seen it before(on a toyota maybe?) in testing and it has nothing to do with rookie drivers... the FIA may have just put it in place without making big deal of it... which would be kinda silly with their whole "make cars green" campaign.

Human eyes are more sensitive to the colour green but I am not sure if that's the reason, it's the reason why image intensifier/night vision images are green, or one of the reasons anyway.
