The new fronts are seemingly easier to warm up quickly. However, that is dependant on what steering system and set up any team is running on a car.marcush. wrote:is it a good idea to warm the rears ? I always thought it was the fronts they had the trouble to get temps up quickly and maintain..ringo wrote:With no tyre warmers the tyres new take some laps to come up to temperature, so warming the tyres this way could also be a direct benefit to getting the car up to speed quickly after a pit stop ie if that's what the exhaust is doing.
It also seems to have an effect on the diffuser, but we need another angle to see what's the interaction between the upper level and the exhausts.
I think this solution will be acted on by Renault first, then STR will demonstrate a "simmlar soluton" for their "diffrent car" and then by Ferarri and BMW Sauber. The Renault and Ferarri engines seemingly are better at reacting to diffferent engine bananna configurations for their exausts. The Mercedes banannas are generally set once the season starts, thats one installation problem the Brawn BGP001 had last year, the banannas were too tall, and Mercedes allowed the end to be snipped off by 5cm and one part changed orientation by 180 degreese to fit their package. Not sure abpit the the Cossies with that solution.
Im sure this could be a hidden development war, exausts and engine banannas. As it provides a tyre warmer solution as well as a CoG influence, whitch is always welcomed. DDD Interfacing, the properties are yet un-known with this develipment.
