Hamilton has a "vibration" in the front <-- bit old that one.

Alonso is now storming into the lead. Vettel hopefully, to keep 5th. Doubtful to keep 4th now.

@zgred: darn you! updating too quickly

Lotus is the only new team still going. Tough little car that, only problem is hydraulic in Jarnos car.

Buemi is now out.
In what way is it "old"?

Seems that you forget that other teams was top form at testing as well as McLaren's momentum from last year too.McLaren-Ferrari-Mercedes...All of them showed speed and solid race pace. You try to convince us that the RB6 is the absolute super car, like the Delorean from "Back in the future" and others are like running with chariots... [-X [-X Plus to win a race you have to finish first and if i was in RedBull that little thing would make me cautious. :!:

Becuase I quoted it a fair bit after it had occured. A whole 15 minutes after zgred quoted it.

I did refresh the page but nothing came up so I added it, only to find that it was already part of the topic upon doing updating.

It's just not going to happen. McLaren's tyres will be destroyed before lap 10 even if the first part of that were to come true and they then won't be able to keep crap behind them. Even when they put 160 kilos of fuel in the car, no amount of balance improvement is going to make that performance deficit go away.

There is just no conceivably feasible scenario that you can engineer that will transpire in a win or even a positive result for McLaren. They are simply miles behind. The body language of absolutely everyone in the team tells you that as well.

So far behind that Hamilton was on the pace all the way through the race once he got by Rosberg at the tyre change.

Hamilton also was pretty racey in the first few corners trying to, shock, overtake. That let Rosberg through. Without that Hamilton might even have had a second place. Hamilton was nearly a second / lap quicker than Rosberg once past him.

Alonso in the Ferrari would have been too quick for the McLaren. And certainly too fast for Massa.

Massa will be privately kicking himself i think. He knows he lost that race in the first corner to Alonso..

And Webber ruined Kubica's & Sutil's race with his afterburner defence system into turn 2..

Well only 4 F1 cars DNF'ed (Koba, De La Rosa, Buemi, Petrov).

Of the 'GP2' teams running in the F1 race.. well that's another story, only 2 of 6 cars finished the division 2 race. :o

Did anyone else notice that for the last corner of the last lap when the camera was panning along, Vettel's splitter practically scraped the track. I think his car was riding much lower than Rosberg's just after him.

I did like some of the lower-perspective onboards. Wish they'd show them when there's a fight for position more often rather than just driving with empty track out in front.

About TV transmission: It took them 5 minutes to show replay of the start. Moreover there was no clear view what did happened there with Kubica & Sutil. TV crew become bit rusty after the brake.

The Mclaren was also matching redbull pace before Vettel had the problem. Most of the top 8 cars were pretty close, even the renault.
What i notice was that Webber was not able to get past Button, which is what i was saying earlier about a 1 second faster car being held up on this circuit.
Webber was marching around with shumacher and Button the whole race. Though he could have made a move on the pitstops, it's funny he was held up.

This was a close result though, the car was good enough to come second as well, if it weren't for Rosberg. All in all the car is good but clearly not as quick as the redbull on full tanks.
it's much just as good half distance on medium compound.
Redbull still looks like it's in another orbit, but it just didn't make the distance.

The MP4 also had decent tyre wear. Can't wait for Australia, should be able to get a win from the ferraris and kick of the battle between Alonso, Massa and Hamilton

After Webber deployed his defence system, Kubica was directly in the blinding smoke, he turned in as normal, but Sutil was there, also entering Webber's smokey deadzone. Kubica turned into Sutil's side in the smoke, and they both span..

Not sure if it was because of the track or the new regulations, but this was quite a boring race IMO.

I guess a bigger difference in tyre performance will make things more interesting.
