I think Red Bull ought to receive a penalty for that smoke screen.
It is bloody dangerous to start off with something like that.

It ruined the race for a lot of people.

Not to mention Webber starting a metre ahead of his grid slot! He was incredibly lucky that wasn't even investigated!

Prost must've dozed off!

I guess a bigger difference in tyre performance will make things more interesting.
It wasn't a classic in my view. I think there was plenty going on but the TV director managed to miss some of it. Lots of mid-field stuff can be great fun but there is a temptation for the TV guys to follow a front group running around nose to tail with no obvious 'racing' going on.

If the rest of the season is like this race it won't be the classic season that many have promised / hoped for.

It's funny but I think we might be asking for a return to refuelling before the end of the year...

Sets an interesting precedent. Do you think others might "accidentally" do the same thing in other races in order to try to get a jump at the start?

I'm guessing they decided he didnt gain any advantage from the start line mistake...it really was a messy race from Webber and highlighting how its still very hard to pass, from Webbers point of view aswell as Hamilton...definitly not a fan of the new Bahrain layout.

As a whole i was rather dissapointed in the race, very processional i just hope it isnt indicative of the rest of the season.

Button is just as good as Heikki in the other McLaren.

Good race for Lewis, so-so race for Jenson. McLaren will have to win the development race if they don't want Alonso running away with this championship.

Let them have it. So far, Ferrari has the most unreliable engine of the grid. Can't wait to see next race.

RB6 is dominant car. BTW, Vettel stopped after finish line not because of the problems, but not to damage rest of the car further, due to excessive heat from damaged exhaust.

They were miles behind where Red Bull and then Ferrari were on speed.
You try to convince us that the RB6 is the absolute super car, like the Delorean from "Back in the future" and others are like running with chariots...
Mildly amusing, but no. I'm afraid not. The Red Bull is certainly where the speed is, that much is certain, but I was pretty clear on where its shortcomings were, certainly at this stage of the season. They weren't going to nail down the reliability issues they had in testing within a few weeks.

One thing i will give them for their stalling rear wing is it definitely helps prevent overtaking...Webber couldnt get near Button on the straights.
segedunum wrote:If that wing stall gives them 0.4 seconds per lap as some are quoting then they're missing a stupid amount of downforce, and I wouldn't give them two straws at tracks where there aren't the straights to use that effectively as there were today.

Possibly the most boring race I have ever seen.

I was surprised some of the top teams didnt come in with about 10 laps to go, put softs on then go all out. This should have been easily 3 seconds per lap advantage.

They chanced their arm with their new parts from Barcelona and it was probably worth a gamble for a race victory.
