New Era Caps?

Post

Since a couple of years New Era caps are the CAPS to wear when you are in the sports. They use to wear them in formula 1 to when you had won a race you got the BIG cap with Goodyear written on it:

Lately i noticed that more people in Formula 1 are going to wear that kind of caps:

But when i search at ferrari site or red bull site. I can't seem to find that kind of caps to buy. What do you guys think? Must those caps come back and go for sale for us so people like me can buy a McLaren cap like the Ferrari cap from Raïkkönen?

Colin Chapman's flat cap sits on the pit wall now at GPs with Lotus.
Now that IS a head dress relevent to F1.
Perhaps some fashion house can contact me to design a copy for sale in F1.
It would send all the big girls baseball caps back to motown where they belong.

I'd love to buy one of those New Eras the drivers are wearing. But I don't think that the teams should transfer the normal caps into a New Era styled one just for the fans. And I don't think that these New Era are for sale. Red Bull just hands them to their drivers. Unfortunately.

New era? I thought it was old school :? I have a cap like that, but it's very old and was made way before the whole 'bling' thing started. These caps look stupid on some (i.e. Kimi) but I have a big head, so it's just right, same goes for Vettel as far as I can see on the photo above.

If you live in the US, New Era (the company) is pretty much the company of choice when it comes to sports.

The range of New Eras in the States is amazing. Can't compare that to Germany.

And I don't think that wearing New Era in racing is kinda old school.

Yes but i don't mean that we replace theme, but just a new line of caps. 1 cap in the normal team color and normal brands on it but then new era style.

It doesn't even have to be New Era it self, these days you can order that kind of hats at every cap factory.

P.S Personaly i think it looks cool at Kimi

You can find the New Era Red Bull caps, the exact one Vettel's wearing in the pics above or the one Kimi's been wearing in the Citroen Jr. team.

My favorite:

Don't forget to leave the sticker on as long as possible so people know it's not an off-brand imitator, lol.

Sorry everyone but I cannot accept the blanket use of caps that originate in American rounders that was taken from British girls schools and renamed baseball.
Trying to look like a 'rapper' just does not do it for me.
Surely F1 can come up with some fashion and dress sense to reflect its superiority and does not have to stay at this level of kids games.

lawl, stating that those flatcaps are for rappers is the same as saying that cheese is only for the dutch people, complete bullshit. Actually here 5 out of 10 people is wearing such caps and it fits the image of the team or person.

For example with red bull, it is a more young and extreme brand thus such cap fits the team.

Have you ever eaten Edam cheese?
5 out of ten people wear such caps because they do not have any other choice available. This reflects the current level of imagination in society compared to the consumer greed they blindly follow.
Many central countries in Europe have never had dress sense in anycase and Scandinavian countries spend to much time skiing.

i dont know wich cheese i have eaten, but stating that 'Many central countries in Europe have never had dress sense' and 'Scandinavian countries spend to much time skiing' is just plain prejudgement. I do not knmow where your from exactly but i am pretty sure that all the people with the dress sence you've called live in the USA, a bit of nationalism fair enough, but why do the americans think they are the kings? They think they invented everything, quite anoying.

No offence though ;)

Wow, that's quite a stretch, from flat-bill fitted caps to the lack of imagination of the postmodern Western world.
