That shows how times have changed. Cars riding over each other at the start, and carrying on. Pit lane full of people at 48 sec . Marshals on the track near the end.

One bit I can't figure out is a strange phenomena called "overtaking"

nah..I well remember that time .with a race in hockenheim without anything happening
it was ...dull...boring ...and made you think what the hell you are doing on a place like this ,when you could still get easily into the pits when 2 F2 races per year in Hockenheim were quite a normal thing .
I remember that race in Hockenheim for ATS fielding both their Penske chassis nut only Jarier making the cut ...and the one spectacular thing was Hans Heyer who had not qualified took to the track anyways and doing a couple of laps for the hell off it before obeing to the black flags ...
that was my first live F1 experience..the drama was purely in Renault R5 cup
and other support races...

Thanks for the feedback men! Those indeed were the days
I was actually interested in the vinyl! A record that never made the charts.
I'm an ancient Rock and Roller and have never seen this single.
I suspect it was not released in The States.I would love to get my hands on a copy!

I haven't seen that particular cut, but other similarly unknown singles of his on his Dark Horse label fetch around $5.00 in good to excellent condition. As a point of reference, a hit such as "Cloud 9" pulls $10-20.00 depending on condition. If you want to sell it to a vintage record store expect to get no more than $1.50.

What about Odetta's LP "It's a mighty world" from 1964?

On that one I can only find a listing for the single, not the album. I have made a phone call to an acquaintance who owns a vintage vinyl store in Hollywood and asked specifically about both. I'll let you two know what she says.

Here is the Odetta link:

Cheers!

Thanks Ted! I was just curious, as this seams to be the rarity, especially since I own it in Europe. It is original RCA record, brought from USA.

My granny told me while she was alive, that there are some pre-WWII records in the attic, but I never went to check them. Perhaps they are true rarities and I'm not aware of it.

Ciro, we need buy-sell stuff topic in off topic chat.

Hollywood, California.

I actually moved back here two years ago and just never thought to change the info. I live in Monrovia now.
