Renault R30

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

if you follow the general development of the R30 its pretty clear that renault simply dont have the budget and resources for developing the F-duct. massive potential in such a device.

The R30 is now the "best of the rest" in the standings, with Renault joint 4th with RBR-Renault at 18 points, and the first non-"big 4" team to overtake a "big 4" team in the standings  That's where the RB6's reliability has got them.

How are those holes legal?
Looks almost like a triple decker. I need to see it from more angles.

To help in providing proof that the current Renault does not have a McLaren duct, take a look at the sharkfin. It is not connected to the rear wing. Currently, every implementation of such a system has a duct inside the connecting part of the sharkfin.

Unless Renault have devised a teleportation system to move the air from the nose to the wing, I think it is safe to assume Renault do not have this.

I think when viewed from a perpendicular view the gaps will close up.

Or maybe when viewed from below there's no bodywork above.

Flat floor below bodywork rule stands only for area between wheels (wheels, not axles). For that same reason nose has no flat floor below itself.
