Interesting thing on F1's official site formula1.com:

They have shown FW32's cockpit with so-called F-duct on it, but FW32 isn't running a shark fin engine cover, so probably misjudgement/wrong caption by them

The same thing can be seen on R30 also.

I saw the Macca with its nose off. The snorkel pipe was clearly visible.

The R30's is just for cooling, this one on the FW32 looks simelar. Too small to a F duct imo.

Interesting, so why do Williams have a much bulkier unit with a bit at the bottom that looks like it telescopes?

I think the snowplow moves quite a bit up & down at speed. The telescopic part is for keeping the sensor pod from swaying laterally.

It works like Ferrari's 'controversial' front wing/nosecone joint from 2005 (or 2006?)

Where that williams one is placed means that it can be used in Quali and the race. This gives the team more data on how the cars height varies in the race with the full tank we have at current.

Also Wiiliams have 10 Cosworth guys with them this weekend trying to see if their unit has the grunt to stay with the front guys, this could lead to relyability and cost upgrades soon for the CA2010 units. I think thats what the guys on 5LiveF1 said when watching FP1 & FP2 on the red button.
