The Renault came with a complete new diffuser/rear wheels/rear bodywork... in Bahreïn.

Fire extinguisher powder is a great detail highlighter! Normally the inside of the diffusers is just black and difficult to see what's going on. That Renault rear end detailing is very involved. Great pics!

I am sure the rest of the field loves these shots!

What are those big holes just above the lowest rear wing mount for ?
The ones that are behind the upper wishbone ?

Surely that is not a third level diffusor ? :wtf:

That are cooling outlets but their increase the diffuser's aero efficiency.
I always said that this rear end is a piece of art, especially since Melbourne.

You could park some cars in that diffuser! Oh my!

What I like are the two channels before the bridge-wing (if that's the right wing) Would the suspension struts not spoil the airflow out of those channels?

More like reaction vanes, since the air puts reaction down force on the surface, but they help the rear wing a lot too it seems. The air speed through it isn't really high but this is the ideal cooling exit IMO.
For Sure!!

And what's even more interesting - where is the inlet for that third level? :-k

Sidepod cooling outlets perhaps?

I told you guys it's a triple decker a few pages ago. It has two sets of holes under the floor. Looks like the second set exits at the top. You can see the asphalt of the ground through the third decks. This is real Triple decker.

edit: Correction... I am not sure if that is the ground I see or the step plane through the top set of holes.. :?:

hmmm. This is new diffuser for Malaysia.. i think.. those upper holes are not there in the Australia pictures.

Australia..

This diffuser is the first one, photographed in Valencia. And no, the Renault don't have a triple decker...
The current diffuser, appeared in Bahrein, has only one deck. it has 4 parallel holes in the floor. The two holes on the top are cooling exits...
