it says that they are like ferrari's where it's actually an extension of the wheel

and also what are the advantages of the front wing shaped like that?

@ Shrek, which part of the front wing do you mean?

A quick update before I go on holiday:
I have made some small changes to the front wing:

I have changed the outer turning vane so that it curves and joins onto the main endplate. Hopefully this should reduce drag and add a small amount of downforce.
I have also changed the design of a turning vane which previously (see below) was mounted on the underside of the upper element. It is now connected with a swan-neck design.

Superb work

Obviously an expert in this technology.
Perhaps the right person to ask a question of.

What would your response be if the FIA brought in a regulation that limited DF to around 50 percent of current levels and demanded it was measured and enforced?

I would try to make
the most possible
df from the front wing, bodywork and diffuser as these have the lowest drag penalty. I'd then dial the df up to the limit by increasing the rear wing angle as the rear wing makes the most drag

With this approach wouldn't you end up with a car that has all the aero balance at the front?... very understeery!

It would be oversteery :p but obviously with the banning of ddd's it would be alot easier to make df on the front than on the rear for low drag. Also I'm writing this on my iPod so I haven't fully explained my ideas

Cars that have their aero balance toward the front would actually have a tendency to oversteer rather than understeer. But legendary is right, that approach would be the most efficient. If that results in a front biased aero, I'm not sure. The floor is more towards the rear so I would imagine that it might produce more downforce on the rear than it does on the front. Probably would be good to get kilcoo or xpensive to chime in on this for us. Wesley123 seems have quite a bit of knowlege too.

LegendaryM - interesting new front wing to say the least. Enjoy your holiday, I'll look foward to more of your updates when you return.

3d pdf document of the car --- http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QR8S52AO (its very small in size - only about 1mb). It also includes some updates to the front and rear wing and engine cover, which i will post later

CAn you fix it?
