Just read the the ash cloud problem is causing teams difficulties in getting personnel and parts into China. I think there is a good chance Buemi might not have a complete car to race this weekend.

No problem south of Hamburg and Berlin so far. Toro Rosso are in Italy. The only facility they have in the north is a wind tunnel.

Buemi's crash was pretty amazing. I was very surprised at the way he got calmly out the car and put the steering wheel back on as if nothing had happened. I would have expected him to jump out the car and stagger back in then stare in disbelief at his car or sit in it for a while in shock.

Does anyone know if Torro Rosso are planning on still racing or are they classing this as a one off freak accident?

I have never seen anything like it where the wheels literally fell off.

They are going to use their old suspension from the first 3 races, the broken one was something new...

Eddie Jordan has been stuck in the UK so he won't be on the BBC coverage.

As the resident Jock on here, I would like to add that the opinion of the drunk fellow on Sky News who proclaimed "I hate Iceland" does not represent the true opinion of most Jocks. Thanks to their volcano, we have been spared Eddie Jordan for one race and for that we love Iceland!

Gosh Buemi's crash was appauling, never seen anything like it, was almost like he'd pressed a tyre ejecter button. Considering what happened he's come over very well, he could've made some big fuss about it but even in the interview on the BBC website he's saying it looked worse than it was.
Be interesting to know whether it was just a faulty batch or whether infact the design is simply dangerous.

Anyway, looking forward to qualy, maybe even get something other than a red bull on pole! =D>

Rules are rules!

Anyone see how was still trying to regain control of the car by turning the wheel even after he's seen both wheel fly away from him?

I can see why he isn't too shaken up. For an F1 driver that was a gentle slide down the armco and a gentle halt in the gravel.

That's a very lucky escape for him and thank all those who gave us a GP with no spectators.

I guess it is just a natural reaction to try and keep steering away from a barrier even if your front wheels have gone AWOL. But a lucky escape noe-the-less.

Yea, good interview on BBC website where he basically said that he found it difficult to understand that both his wheels had gone, suppose it's natural instinct to steer out of danger.
Main thing is that no harm came to him or anyone else =D>

I wouldn't be sure of no one coming to any harm. It's the time of year when Franz Tost likes to start hitting member of staff and I am sure there will be a designer or mechanic somewhere getting worried. 8-[

WOW that was a scary shunt, glad Buemi's ok!

Despite the failure, it's still a pretty big tribute to the safety of the cars; guys have been hurt worse in accidents that looked a lot more benign.

PS There's still room to squeeze "Two-Time World Champion" on there.
