First post so hello, hoping you can help with a couple of questions..
We are trying to accurately as possible replicate the physics of a 911 (996) GT3 Cup Car for a racing sim.
I am trying to find the overall downforce of the car, the main aim is to work out how much force is generated at front and rear of car. I know the rear wing on max setting generates about 200kg/m at 300kph.
Some data I do have about road cars
GT3: Drag coefficient Cd = 0.30, frontal area A = 1.94 m2, Cd x A = 0.58 m2
GT2: Drag coefficient Cd = 0.34
We are currently using a Drag coefficient of Cd=0.30 which is for the road I think this may be a little low as the GT2 uses the same front spoiler as cup car but Drag coefficient Cd = 0.34, could the 0.4 be down to the 2 rear air intakes?
Secondly Porsche have patented the 4” brake ducts for the car, I believe they produce downforce rather than lift and I think the following confirms this.
a clear decrease of the lift (VA + 17/hectar + 38 kg). Supporting a change of the cooling air takes place in the front car, which is consulted besides still for the supplementing brake cooling.

Sorry for such a long first post..
Cheers.
