Even if you scales the height down by 5, considering the length of the track, the raised points are still very steep. That back straight looks like a real roller coaster.

It definately has more elements than Monza the track it is inspired by (I think). I hope Tilke puts the feedback from the teams to good use.

Mmm... the elevation changes do add some salt and spice to the mix. Nevertheless, I have the feeling that the track would have been more interesting if ran counterclockwise.

Regarding the "Break points", these are carefully designed spots to tighten the championship. Tilke reckons the Newey cars are the "fast and the fragile". In order to give some advantage to the other teams, the break points include carefully tuned ultrasounds and bumps that will enter into resonance with Newey desing. The result is an 80% enhancement of a DNF probability. Beware Mark Webber! you may end up braking with your buttocks.

Oh, and a nice +1 to variable radius corners.
I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.

Haha... brilliant.

Anyway first time I've seen that elevation map of the circuit, looks fairly decent. I wonder if it really is second fastest behind Monza, I remember reading that awhile ago.

There's more Indian participation in F1 right now than there is for quite alot of the other calendar countries at the moment, so in terms of whether F1 should go there or not, I don't see why not.

the track looks awesome... and the back straight is like the one in china... i guess with the double diffuser out next year and with K.E.R.S back (mostly)... more overtaking will take place... and will suit the FORCE INDIAs.... :D

1. I don't think the vertical elev. changes are to scale. I think they are over exaggerated to show where there will be elev. changes.
2. I does not remind me of Monza at all. This has it's own unique look with components from a variety of other tracks incorporated. It looks good on first glance. I just hope they will have it complete for next season.

Doesn't India still recieve international aid. Kinda wonder what a country in that situation is doing hosting a F1 race.

I hope that things will be better organized than the 2010 commonwealth games. The last thing you would want are drivers pulling out due to some illness.

What ---!!! Which athlete came to New Delhi and left sick??

Agreed run up to the games was a fiasco (as was Korea), but the games were run as well as any international event.

Wow, thanks for those links,

It is home to one-third of the worldโ€™s poor, and 75 percent of its population lives on less that $2 per day and yet has a space program, a nuclear weapons program and now a F1 race.
