Lotus T127 Cosworth

I have always had a somewhat dim view of Gascoyne based on the publicity he gets never matched by results for his designs. His objective and frank assessments and general approach in that video has certainly made me see him in a much more positive light from now on.

I think we should all thank Mike Gascoyne for that video.
He is definitely developing Lotus F1 in the spirit of Chunky and I for one appreciate his methods.
Of course he will not give away any up to date secrets but what was covered gave a great deal to FI and to the fans.
I will keep my fingers crossed this weekend, anything over a second gain will be very difficult IMO but if it happens it would be a wake up call for the others.

Can anyone tell me the trade name of that blue foam in the pictures of the front wing. I know what it is; I want to look for the local supplier.

I'm quite interested to see what their cascade will look like for the front wing.

Now that front wing (the cascades in particular) look suspiciously much like the TF109 :P

Good :)

Twitpic doesn't allow hot-linking, but you can use imgur.com to re-host it, works perfect, much much better than imageshack

Re: Lotus T127

styrofoam is not dense enough to provide the support needed for a jig.
this is tooling block ,a very dense epoxy or urethane I´d say as Ureol or something along these lines.
see:
http://www.prfcomposites.com/materials- ... typing.asp

the jig cannot be made of material than will give as the bonding will inevitably pull
with big force on the parts when curing...

I think it's called depron foam.
