The writing for Massa has been on the wall for some time. He's had some favourable treatment at Ferrari over the years when it perhaps hasn't been warranted, but even when things were going well he had a habit of putting in performances that were some way off where he should be. The 'driver coaching' from Rob Smedley has happened for some time and it has raised more than a few eyebrows.ringo wrote:Massa is having a rough season. Why is kubica in a renault qualifying ahead of him? Things don't look good for Massa at ferrari next year then.
I completely agree.segedunum wrote:The writing for Massa has been on the wall for some time. When the Ferrari was heavily biased to generating most of its grip from the aerodynamics then he looked to have a way of working with the car, but now that they've endeavoured to make the car more driveable in slower corners and generate more mechanical grip then he looks absolutely nowhere. Alonso looks to be able to generate the heat in his tyres that he needs to be comfortable with that car, and ironically, I daresay that Raikkonen would have been far more comfortable with the way that Ferrari now looks.
I think Massa's politically cosy situation within the team looks to be over, and Alonso hasn't really had to do anything. Disappointing.
Your enjoying this aren't you? Rubbing salt in the wounds now that shumacher makes a turn around. Rosberg fans may not be so forgiving next time, since shumi has no more excuses.WhiteBlue wrote:Rosberg struggling on P9.
Yep, Alonso clearly has the psychological edge on his teammate. If anything he will beg to keep massa as his sidekick, though Ferrari may want Kubica. Massa is probably not 100% from his accident last year, but still it seems he is less focused this year after Australia's race.Giblet wrote:I completely agree.segedunum wrote:The writing for Massa has been on the wall for some time. Massa has grown on me over the years. I respect him for more with his ability to work hard. A big heart won't keep him there much longer. So long as Alonso keeps from flipping over the card table, he should win the season over his teammate quite easily.
Alonso is a tough nut to crack, but he drives each car like it needs to be drive to go quick. Many people thought his technique of hammering the car into the corners in the Renault was his driving style, but he doesn't really have one has his tenure at Mclaren and Renault the second time around showed.
He flicked the Renault in because it made it go the quickest, and the Mclaren smooth, because that was the fastest for each car.
He is very good at wringing the neck of the car in the right way, but in Spain this time around, he seems to just have gotten it a little wrong.
They wouldn't have been faster. They would have started ahead of him. In any case, your prayers haven't been heard. You don't say! Of course they would not be faster. It was a vague attempt at humour. Jeeeese! Some people!Miguel wrote:They wouldn't have been faster. They would have started ahead of him. In any case, your prayers haven't been heard. Ferrari, however, has been fined $20k
what if he did not even attempt to start Q3 -would this have allowed him to start on his choice of tyres and he could choose freely tomorrow morning?hollus wrote:Why did Kobayashi even bother to go out in softs in Q3? Now he has to start the race on softs and is equally 10th. The hards were good enough for a fishing expedition in case somebody else had problems.
Sorry for that. I'm not in the best of moods. I never am on saturdays since I moved to London.andrew wrote:You don't say! Of course they would not be faster. It was a vague attempt at humour. That is actually the only fair solution to the infringement. Alonso did nothing wrong. Ferrari messed up and needed punishment for the unsafe release.Miguel wrote: Ferrari, however, has been fined $20k
