what is it with McLaren and their disdain for symmetrical exhausts?!? It's driving me nuts

Problem is with the car it seems,

Bridgestone suspecting the tyre was not to blame, they will now send the parts back to their factory to investigate the reasons for the failure.

Seems like a rim failure, the tyre seesm to be alrite on it's surface.

It seems a structural failure at the mclarens, it happened before with their cars, and now it happens again.

Depends on how you look on it. I can see it as a removed panel.. but I can sorta see how it can look like a new inlet... that would be cool though.

In that case it is just the light reflecting the contours of the engine cover.

well, on the barca race i saw a black hole on the right side of the engine cover, the car was raced with it, it can easily be cooling or something

All there is its just this panel removed,no inlet apparently just a trick of light.

It is the panel (removed) that has been there since launch. You unscrew the panel, fill or drain fuel, FIA restricted to 0.8L/s, you screw the panel back on.

Story for Monaco is apparently coupla minor, probably high DF bits and pieces, and the usual Monaco spec parts to get you round Loews, so I wouldn't be expecting any sudden massive holes to open-up in the car anytime soon.

Why don't you read the previous pages ? that wing appeared in Barcelona and we have discussed about it

Yeah but we didn't get to the bottom of it. There are many implications in that picture... Like the holes are not in the 15cm centre-line area for example.

Which is why they span the chord of the wing, rather than the span. They are interesting. It's about time we got some interesting rear-wing design.
