Renault R30

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Yes that's true. Look at Petrov v Hamilton in Malaysia. He could keep up. I wonder how much of that was from the tow though...

Petrov could not keep up under normal circumstances. Don't forget they both came out of the corner side by side, after Hamilton passed him. Normally one car would be exiting that turn as another one is just entering, leaving a gap. There was no gap with Petrov and Lewis, giving us the impression the Renault had the speed to stick on to the mclaren.
For Sure!!

From GP Update Live chat:
15:03:21 ...the tray which holds the ice by the brakes wasn't fitted properly, so ice was shot up into the air
15:03:05 With the dry ice, Petrov turned the wheel as the team went to push the car into the garage...
15:02:24 Replays show Vitaly Petrov's dry ice going all over the floor in the pit lane

:D

Kubica looks very fast in Monaco. In P2 he had absolutely best time on the harder tyres. On super softs he started fast laps when track temperature decreased almost 10 degrees (lack of Sun) and he couldn't improved much his time. Still his bests times on S1 and S2 are from harder compound, and gap to Alonso is 0.288 s. Really impressive.

Thanks Zgred, as always good TV shoot :D

Speed trap at P2: 1. Kubica 286 km/h, 2. Petrov 285 km/h, 3. Hamilton 284 km/h
Low DF in R30 or McL F-duct is not effective at this track?

Exactly. He was loosing time in the 3rd sector and he had a bit too much over-steer...
The track temperature that decreased 'suddenly' didn't help him to improve his excellent pace when he switched to the softer compound...
I hope Sunday and Saturday will be sunny and hot 8)

New shareholder for RF1. Lopez contacts start to be productive. Renault F1 groves and strengths during this season a lot.

In my.renaultf1.com I think

and we can see that wing in the photos...

Kubica did his best time driving used tires...

Today, I had to abort the first run on a soft set, then I went on used tires, and drove a few laps. I wasn't looking for good lap times, it was rather to check the balance and do a comparison of the two compounds. I must admit that a hard tire performs well and it looks very promising".

Where did he said that?
Here: http://my.renaultf1.com/profiles/blogs/ ... cal-monaco but... due to technical problems all comments were lost.

They said the reason was both new front wings were damaged in Barcelona and they are repaired :D but I don't buy it, do they had only one new front wing per car?

Did he talk about FP1, FP2 or both?

It's very possible. Petrov destroyed his new wing in Barcelona and raced the China spec. The same thing happened to him in Shanghai; he raced the previous spec...
So Renault uses the new wings as soon as they leave the factory.

I don't know. I haven't a good translation...
