Lotus T127 Cosworth

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Did lotus improve their rear suspension through Barcelona?I heard their original version of rear suspension were made of steel rather than carbon fiber in order to promote reliability.

Heikki Kovalainen wrote: We had a gearbox problem while we were firing up on the grid. The gearbox selected two gears at once - there was some sort of software issue which caused it to fail. It’s unfortunate, because we have had such a good weekend, but these things happen. Next up it’s Monaco, and I know we’ll be stronger again there, so we can focus on the next race and hope the luck returns.

Love the way the push rod goes through the corner of the aerofoil section top front wishbone. Nice clean car but few inovations.
I hope there is no gearbox problem this time Dieter
It is such a pity Lotus have not asked the FIA to allow them to fix a pneumatic valve spring problem. That way they could have gained over 2 seconds.
I bet Cosworth are furious about that oversight :x

Surely not a permanent cover, only to protect the radiator fins when the mechanics are working there

Well he's holding a checklist :P

1. Increase downforce
2. Increase mechanical grip
3. Reduce drag
4. Remove Trulli

Did I miss anything out? :P

Less than a second from Q2 and roughly 2 seconds off the top teams, not bad.

Does the circuit eliminate part of mechanical downforce issue? If the answer is negative.I am glad the lotus take a steady pace.
