I had the great pleasure to watch his last drive at the Toronto Indy in CART the year he had his accident. I think it was 3 or 5 races before his accident. Great racer, fabulous man.

Maybe the best pass i've ever seen in motorsport was zanardi going "off road" to pass bryan herta in the corkscrew at laguna seca.

I recently read his autobiography - an excellent read!
He is an incredible man in many many ways.

[quote="Tom"] Unfortunatly never scored a point.[quote]

I believe he got a point for 6th in Brazil 1993!
He would have a lot more if he had been in better cars.

Another good read about a fightback from adversity is Johnny Herbert's biography which I'd thoroughly recommend.

I'm currently reading the Ken Tyrrell biography which is great too !

Half way through Brundle's.

Good book if u want to know about the circuits, but little else.
McRae's was a good read, but by far the best has to be Zanardi's.

Unfortunetly I stumbled across his crash video earlier.

I will not put it up here for the sake of good taste, however looking at it shows how lucky he is to still be alive.

Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.
