Renault R30

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Prost & Senna
Prost & Mansell
Hamilton & Alonso
etc.

Alonso and Kubica also have different driving styles.
Also It might be a good tactical move to delay the shift, so Kubica's value might increase.

But lets discuss his car!

Boullier is expecting similar pace to the race in Spain, perhaps even better thanks to new improvements.

Keep pushing RF1, what a development war with Mercedes :D

Watch this interview with Petrov and the cars behind him. Are they re-branded cars for roadshow, or completely new R30 aero for Turkey?

EDIT: Sorry, too early post, RF1 Paddock Pass said: "the cars in the background are the demo cars - two R29s. The R30s will be in Istanbul by now and almost at the circuit."

In Turkey R30 will have updated front wing. On the pictures Vitaly has the old one, but a new one will arrive soon from factory.

No F-duct in Turkey. Some other updates (but not specified).

Missing camera wing from left of the airbox inlet, compare to photo below (black small wing on the left side of inlet). Could it be attached later, when car will be fully assembled?

Istanbul is anticlockwise track (like Interlagos) as opposed to the rest of the tracks. Camera mount could be on the other side merged with black background.

Reason: removed images from quote. it's too much to quote, especially if it's right above your post. ;)

The new wing:

with three vertical fences !
the long upper winglet is gone. Now a shorter and split winglet takes its place (with a higher AOA + a gurney flap)
