Renault R30

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I still can't get used to seeing LADA in F1!

Whatever next, Skoda F1 Team, or perhaps Yugo F1 or Talbot F1?

Was that photo earlier on of a practice start going on? Also I'm quite interested in that cascade wing. It seems everyone (or almost everyone) are going in that similar direction. Force India, Mercedes since its Brawn guise, and even Red Bull

Some addition under the nose comes with a new front wing. Small fins? Hornets jawbone ;-)?

There is no small winglet at the back of R30.

What is on the bottom right side of DDD?

Yep, you are right. But bottom of the DD is open. What is a white horizontal line and some shining then? Some flares, shine reflections?

Be assured that both Skoda and Talbot are much more related to international racing than Lada! Talbot actually raced in Formula 1.

And Skoda are just realistically priced Audis and we know how good they are in m'sport - just look at their record in rallying, endurance and touring cars. Oh, and Skoda are part of the group that owns (or will soon anyway) Porsche; and you can't get a better m'sport heritage than Porsche's.

Skoda have some history in rallying too. They certainly have as much right to claim heritage as some other famous marques...

Well, I really don't know Lada's history (as I'm not interested in the matter), but I know Lada is competing in the Dakar races with some successes. I googled they were at least 2nd once, but never mind the place, it's quite an achievement for the car not falling apart after few thousands KM on the desert.

I think my gut was right 8) . The R30 is faster than the ferrari F10 on a "normal" track like Turkey. Wicked improvements.

I wonder what will be their improvements for Canada as there was some rumours of Renault planning to bring bigger upgrades for that race.
