A wet race will spice things up and someone hitting the wall at the final corner is such a tradition, that most will be disappointed if no one hits it.

If you want to spice things up go and eat Indian food!

I want a completely dry race, or maybe at least a few sprinkles to get everyone on their toes.

I can't believe that this is still next weekend, it seems like it's taking forever to come up, we should have more back to back races.

Overcast but no rain, so the 3 hour line up to get off the island will be more bearable...lol

An evening with Joe in Montreal

Has anyone attended his previous events? And anyone planning to attend this one in Montreal??

There are no cool kids on this forum :P

I am up for drinks with anyone who is attending. People going to the race are cool in my books :)

Anyone who wants to meet on Thurday, Friday, or Saturday night let me know via PM. I will have my iPhone with me (read:this webpage) for the entire weekend.

I was going to take the train from Kitchener Ontario to Montreal, but I found out a little too late that the train does not run on Thursday like I previously thought, so I am now flying to the race and arriving on Thursday evening.

Also, my brother has offered to let me borrow his Nikon D50 with the zoom lens. Much better than my Kodak point and shoot which I'll be using to get some 720p vids.

Not for 60 bones.

I think, and I hope that someone will verify, that spending that 60 bucks on a Kangaroo for the weekend is worth it?

Indeed it is. Worth every single penny in my opinion.

Depends on how you structure your weekend.

I used it in Hungary in 08 and yes it was brilliant! The information at hand, and choice of video footage, is nothing short of awesome!
But we had grandstand seats and kept to them all weekend. Hungary is a bit more limiting that way, where less than 1/3 of the track is available to explore around. We did all our exploring on the saturday morning & after that we stayed in our seats.

In Australia this year, you could walk around 90% of the track on the inside & outside, there were huge screens almost everywhere you looked, and some of the vantage points were awesome!
Since i walked around so much, stopping at various places, there was no way i would've given the Roo enough time to justify the cost. I found all i needed for info was on the screens anyway.
In addition to that, it was damn exciting getting caught up in the atmosphere of the race & the crowd, instead of being anti-social glued to my little portable screen.

So depends, are you going to be walking around enjoying the atmosphere & exploring the views, or glued to a grandstand seat that you paid for with its great view..?
