Well well the Americans are looking at a wankel in the Abrahams then.
Only as an auxiliary power source though, still it is a start. Eventualy they might even wake up completely and realise the cold war is over and all the mega expensive bits of military macho are completely obsolete.
Light inexpensive and covert suitable equipment is what they need against the AK47 and RPG armed terrorists in millions of square miles of nothing.
Battle tanks are a useless idea.
Even their combat aircraft are pointless. The Taliban can hear them coming 30 miles away. Of course the Americans have the preditor and other drones to kill wedding parties and other miss designated targets with, flown by remote control from thousands of miles away. Another daft idea.
I suppose it beats arcade games but not by much.
There is an answer that is cost effective and fully proven in all the roles needed including dealing with unexploded roadside bombs. Trouble is vested interest prevents the huge change of tactical and strategic thinking needed to start winning out there instead of continualy loosing.

This 68 ton sonomabitch was somewhat thirsty in its day, 700 liter/100 km. That's if you stayed on the road!

Naughty xpensive.
At least the Abrahams shows just how much America relies on fossil fuel to keep its big stick in the air.
It explains why it is such an up hill struggle to keep the momentum of change to alternatives going.
Selfish greed says it all.

Of course with the oil companies drilling in ever deeper seas and taking ever worse risks in safety to save the corrupt bankers money, America might just be waking up to the futility of continueing with fossil fuel exploitation.
I do not thing those Americans living around the Gulf of Mexico would disagree.

Why would a Super Power like America be so reliant on one source of energy, other than at this moment in time their is no better workeable option?
Fact is America is spending more on alternative sources of energy than any country on the planet.
Because when you strip away all your propaganda, America is reliant on other people for its energy(oil).
If it became self sustainable in energy terms, it would allow even greater revenues for its government! So greed is just a red herring and of no real consequence.

Way to over simplistic JET, to start with you have ignored the effects of global power politics and the poorly hidden American Empire building.

Global power politics? poorly hidden empire building?

Perhaps these things occur in conspiracy books, but the fact remains America would be twice as powerful without needing oil. AND IT KNOW'S THAT.

I do not think America has ever been powerful just deluded.
As to not being reliant on fossil fuels, I have no idea how you conclude this.
Most of their pointless foreign policies and wars have been all about oil, WW2, Suez, the first Gulf, the latest ones they have been loosing for over a decade in Irag and Afghanistan.
The American people are the same as most other people, they are just kept a lot more in the dark than most.

Where did I actually say this? I said they would be twice as powerful if they did not need oil.

Why can they tell the rest of the world to get off? Im no fan of American, but from what I know of them is this...America talks, the world listens...end of story.

Powerful enough to save you, me and most of europe in WW2. Was that deluded?

Could you please go back on topic now, We all know your conspiracy theorys and strange views on the world, but they dont belong in this thread or even this F1 fourm. Its also very annoying.

Thanks

Iran must be beyond deaf, so amerikka will probly nuke them, because nobody can handle them having nukes, imagine... they might just nuke Japan... twice... and incinerate a quarter million people... oh wait thats already been done... they'll have to find a new target, maybe someone that has nukes pointed at Iran right now... you know the same assholes who were trying to give the aparthied govt of S.Africa nukes...yeah those assholes.

Re: Replacing fossil fuels

I have once read an article about somesort of rare molecule that reacts with the O2 moleculs when put togheter and brought under pressure.

The idea was to use it as replacment of Fossil fuels, but that they still can't control the reaction that happends when you put those Molecules togheter and put pressure on it.

The idea was, to create like cars with 2 tanks 1 tank with the Molecule that is rare, and a tank with O2. Then put togheter like injection style, and then just let a piston create pressure That way it will react and you got energy to drive.

The rare molecule is found deep in the ocean, scientist believe that there are allot of that type molecules there.
Problem is that it is found to deep to get there with our equitment, without people passing out because of the extream pressure.
What does IDK means?? (someone) i dont know (other dude) OMG no one knows

You really need to argue this?

I will repeat, America talks the world listens.

Not some little island called Cuba! Not a dusty mountainous country called Afghanistan, Nor a jungle where half the populartion (urbanised anyway) wanted them to stay (Vietnam).
These places are hardly power mongers and are best described 3rd world countries.

As For Iran I think you will find Ahmedinejad to be every inch the Islamatron pin up boy right?

Get off it man, America is the most powerful country in the world today. Perhaps China will join them if they havent already, but questioning the power and influence of the yanks is beyond me....

Just a good thing that those South Africans had more sense to build their own.
Those "assholes" were also the first country to totally dismantle their nuclear weapons arsenal in the aparthied era.
