If You compare that two pictures You can observe that there are additional holes/slots close to endplates (low at the hight of the central slot), moreover from the front, main slot is closed in that width but from the back it exist in the full width.

abd due to its feed you create an 3 plane wing, at least this is the closest you will come to such an wing.

full aluminium front bulkhead... when did we see that last time...

very nice touch with the bottles...you can see their support bracket is hinged on the right side so you can just swing them to the side for suspension access..

also the torsionbars left right are interconnected by that horizontal rod ,or better said ,usually are ...as the bolt on the left side is missing... hopefully

on purpose...

Renault win the prize for the most innovative passive rear wing of the year so far. That thing is impressive.

The main element is hollow, with the interior being fed from central and end top surface holes. The air from these is fed to a slot on the underside of the main element effectively turning it in to two elements. Clever use of connecting pieces ensure the whole thing complies with the rule requiring the use of just two unbroken sections.

What a great way to turn a 2 element wing in to a 3 element wing with all the efficiency benefits thereof. With the loss of the active f-duct systems next year, this type of rear wing will be the norm and I, for one, look forward to the variations that will appear.

I wonder if we'll see teams doing the same thing with the top element in order to create a 4-element cascade...

Renault sold out to Genii and since then they have promised to develop at a much faster rate than before. And new management and team structure compared to 2009.

Is there really any difference other than kicking Briatore out and not having Symonds available at all? I had the impression that losing Symonds would really affect them in a negative way. Regarding the development of the car this year, it may help that the R29 wasn't really developed from about June onwards. I think they got a new diffuser for Nürburgring and that's it.

In any case, yeah, R30's front wing is the oposite concept of last year's R29.

I like the lightest possible mounting method used for those brake fluid bottles = zip ties.
I assume the front ride height is being adjusted in the picture. Early on there was speculation that RBR was able to do this in some secret way to enable special qualifying (& race) pace.
Notice the red & green port & starboard marking on the torsion bars.

the levers are obviously connected to the torsionbars left and right (when all parts are in place so effectively the torsion bars work against each other when both wheels go in bump .In single bump this approach would enhance roll ...if there was not something restraining droop ,looking at the left side lever -bolt is missing there!) you can clearly see this corner did not move much ,and if the complete corner is mounted to the wishbone ,there is a drooplimit builtin somewhere,I guess.

the steering is low on the renault ,level with the lower wishbones...

This is what I understand as well, just never seen anything like it, must be some anti-roll device in there, correct?
