Michael was brutally hard there and drove Rubens clearly off track and almost into the wall. It was dangerous driving I think but in the end they did not have an accident and Rubens should have known better than trying such a move on Michael without being in front. Perhaps both drivers should be reprimanded. Rubens went deliberately off track to pass and Michael did not give enough room once that Rubens was committed. He should have let the fool through instead of risking their life. In the final dangerous moment only Michael could prevent the accident, which he did but by a too small margin. Penalty should be given to send a clear message that driving off track isn't ok.
Only a Schumie fanboy (I don't mean you, you like Red Bull right?) could describe it like that, the turn coming up is a right one too...

Rubens Barrichello wrote:He made a mistake on the last corner and you could see he was just a bit too close. You know, we’ve been there before and what we want from racing is just to be fair. He saw me coming and just closed, closed, closed and luckily the wall ended there, so I could go a bit more to the right. There’s not a rule for that but between ourselves we should just choose a line and stay on that line.
Yes Rubens, that was hard driving but you are wrong to claim that Michael changed his line to squeeze you. He changed his line to give you room eventually, but very late.
Michael Schumacher wrote:Well there’s not much to say other than that he had fresher tyres. My exit speed (from the final corner) was a bit compromised. I knew he was coming so, from my point of view, I was moving over to let him know where I was so he could go to the other side, but he obviously decided not to move to the other side. We know some drivers have certain moves.
Sure Michael, but between old men like you and Rubens you don't want to risk your life for one lousy point? What if Rubens had misjudged the gap and you had touched?

Clearly Michael showed a lack of class here. And for what? A single point?

The tv of Vettel talking to Webber, Alonso & the official just before they went onto the podium - I thought he conducted himself very well. He really seemed to be trying to find out what the others knew. No shouting, tantrum or wild accusations.

Schumacher overstepped the line. That was dangerous.

Red Bull with the fastest 2 cars only managed #1 & #3. Team problem. Who exactly is to blame is not clear but it reinforces my belief that others could do a better job than Horner.

Yeah, I though he behaved really well.
Haven't seen PC though.

Myurr, in your defense of Barichello you should inspect the pictures I posted. They are all shot by the same camera position. Watch the angle of Michael's left front and rear wheels. It clearly shows he never turned right. First he kept his line and then he turned left to give a bit of room but very late.

Rubens knew he was going off track and should have lifted when he still could. So he clearly did not do the right thing. Micheal was equally stubborn and should have given room earlier before Rubens had to completely go off track.

I agree that Michael did the riskier thing but Rubens had a big contribution for getting into a tight spot there.

Wrong, he steered right to offer Rubens the outside line and then straightened. Rubens followed to stay in the tow and then went right. Schumacher then turned right again to further squeeze Rubens, straightened slightly as they approached the end of the wall and then pushed right again before veering left.

Michael's line was towards the grass, IMO. One is supposed to go back to the race direction before the guy next to you runs out of track. Think of it, getting diagonal an then staying straight until YOU are almost in the grass is an unpassable move.

Your pictures don't start early enough - what you are showing is the second move from Schumacher. His first was after exiting on to the straight where he then chose to move to the right.

Rubens absolutely did not have to lift - Michael had a duty not to force a competitor off track through his driving. This was not on a bend, this was not anywhere near the racing line, etc. This was on a straight with a move designed to deliberately put the frighteners on the overtaking driver. We've seen Vettel do this repeatedly this year and now Schumacher - the FIA have to clamp down on it before there is an accident.

Not early enough and not the later course either. Enough with pictures already, video pls.
Also is there footage of the incident that caused the safety car and why did Button pit before it?

Schumacher given a ten place penalty. Yep, he overdid it. I still think that Rubens was also driving dangerously but not to the extend that Michael did.

Luck, I think, because of traffic he changed his strategy. Or maybe he saw the incident and / or the debris and called it that there was going to be a safety car.

I thought he might have been involved in it. Oh well. I'll look for video of it.

LOL @ worthless penalty. He starts way back any way /evil

Seriously though, when a car is behind you then you can choose your line, but when a car puts his front wheel on same level as your rear wheel you CANNOT push them and run them off track (especially into walls). Don't you agree? We must make overtaking easier after all. What say you WB? Don't be biased because your precious Kettle did it in a previous race too.

:wtf:

Shumacher was putting the guy in the wall!!

Schumacher:

"This is F1,"

"I think I left him too much room because he passed."

So white blue do you agree with your country man? He should have sqeezed him some more then.
By track troll's logic, His plan to but barichello in the wall failed, becuase Rubens came out alive? :?
For Sure!!
