Electronic Aerodynamics

Now that KERS is coming back for next year, do you think it's possible that; teams could use the batteries to create electrical currents on the car body, to influence the way air affects certain parts? Would this even be possible? What kind of gains could one realistically make if it is?

P.S. I searched and couldn't find anything on the subject.

Im pretty sure that currents on the cars body would not be allowed due to people having to touch the cars, not to mention rain.

Practical realism aside, I am not sure what ionized air would add as a benefit on an aerodynamic element.

You never know.. do you think it'd be worth the hassle though?

I ertainly think it is possible, but the technology to do that very well and efficient are just far away, makes me think of Mass Effect 2, where they can create mass fields so they can travel at light speed, I think that that is jsut possible, but the technology to do that is just so far away.

Sure this technology is not mass production yet.
But they have planes up and flying so it´s not just a theoretical concept (pipe dream)
either. I´m sure that if the FIA would permit the technology to be used, F1 teams would
take it up and run with it, pushing the R&D of it along the way. In a similar way as they did with advanced composite materials
