Perhaps Heidfeld had to leave the silver-star because of that ourageous beard and hairdo? Marketing people can be very careful with those things, remember Alonso cleaning up his act when joining McLaren, even picking his eyebrows?

Re: Mercedes GP

It's interesting how this thread has become an outrageous discussion between people who fail to reach agreement in between a few funny guys trying to put the sunshine back in.

While I'm still trying to understand some of the human psyche, I begin to see that my humble attempts will fail anyway. I really can't understand where some posts in these last few pages came from, and I will just stop trying. If I fail to see any logic in future posts, I think I will just take action :D

May I ask, for once, to be nice to each other and stay on topic?

He looks like he's spent some time on Das Boot, that's for sure.

Re: Mercedes GP

he Mercedes F1 team may soon have to turn their attention to making some changes in personnel.

That is the warning of Mercedes motorsport vice-president Norbert Haug, amid reports the Brackley outfit are now working almost exclusively on its 2011 car.

"We hope to return to success," said Haug. "However, if we fail to achieve the goals we have set, we may have to change some people."

That's all crap from Haug and he knows it, if Mercedes had wanted do do something about an incompetent design-team
for the 2011 car, it is way too late for that now, target the new rules for the 2013 season perhaps?

Xpensive what sort of timescale do you have to work with?
Mercedes have been in this position for 8 months since take over, and you are saying they should already have sacked and now recruited a newer/better design team?

First you have to know whom to get rid of and whom to keep. If you sack them all you will be back to square one. And being 4th, this means they will need to get staff from 3 teams that are better than them Ferrari, Red Bull and Mclaren.
Do you really think these teams will release staff mid season?
C'mon xpensive, you enthusiasm for criticising Mercedes is fair enough, but arent you being too critical here?

Sit back an read my post again JET, I wrote that if Mercedes had wanted to change their design-team for whatever reason, they should obviously have done it before they began developing the 2011 car. That's all.

I dont want this to boil over, but I read it 3 times before posting. You put forward that the idea of change now is crap, and Haug knows it.
I'm just tempering that view with my own.

Perhaps if you remove those three-pointed-star contacts, you could start to appreciate somebody else's view?
