Renault R30

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

It's so amazingly busy...and with gloves on at 200 mph these guys manipulate those tiny switches. Almost worse than a fighter jet.

Looking forward to Renault with their F-duct. They say it is ready and will run in Belgium. I believe Kubica is almost there. With a little more speed, he might break through and battle at the very front.

From autosport.com:
The Enstone-based outfit has been working on the blown-wing design for several months, and in July said it hoped to have it ready for the high-speed events at Spa and Monza - where it should provide a good advantage on the long straights.

Does anyone have any photos of Renault F-Duct? Some say that they have a different solution of this F-Duct.

F duct feed, no doubt.

It was about time for someone to implement my head protector inlet idea from February 2008. If only they weren't so conservative...

Looks like it's a passive thing. I can't see how can the driver control it. Can't see the control hole on the cockpit shot neither. Altrough maybe it's not hand-operated, but unlikely.

It looks like an active thing based on the TV coverage from the practice.
Kubica was using left hand on straights on the cockpit wall.

It is active. Back of left hand wrist, I was quite obvious during practice 1.

OK, maybe that yellow plug on the left. Probably it's plugged in with a little yellow plug while in garage. But if it is so, then you have to have another air intake somwhere for that control, like McLaren. Somwhere in front of cockpit.
