I think Findia has a great shot at the podium. They were strong last year and they will be again this year. I think 4 teams have a real shot at the podium, and 3 of winning. I think that Renault McLaren and Ferrari are excellent bets for a win actually, given that the Renault F duct seems just so effective, and Findia an outsider for a podium. Anyone care to hedge any bets on how Red Bull will perform at what is theoretically going to be their worst-suited circuit on the calendar?

Renault won't run their F-duct in Monza I've just read. McLaren was still considering but I don't think so.

Really? I was just thinking that Renault could actually still use theirs given that their implementation blows the main plane of the wing rather than the flap

I don´t think that the new floor test will have a great effect for Monza, as the cars run normally very flat (little rake) in Monza - if it´s dry.
The impact will be seen later in the season come Singapore and Brazil. IMHO

I think it will be a head to head race between McLaren and Ferrari, with Force India being a dark horse.
I don´t think, that Renault and RBR have quite the legs to run with McL and Ferrari in the dry, if it rains it will be a different matter. If RBR can get both cars in the top 5, that will be a very good result for them, in terms of the champioship.

Appart from shear engine power and good aero efficiency the abbility to ride the curbs well, and be early on the throttle will be important. In this respect it will be interesting to see what McL does with their mechanical setup.
If they need to run their ultra stiff front to get the aero to work (like Hungary), they may suffer in the chicanes.
For this (curb riding) the floor/splitter could have an effect too, so maybe it(the new floor test) has a bit of an influence after all.
I would see McL and Ferrari as favorites at this track.

I wonder why no one has pointed out Ferrari as a favorite for this race. I mean, in Canada, Falonso was just as on the pace as the Maccas.

Having said that, I wonder how the world would react if we had Vettel, Button, and Alonso on the podium in Monza, with Webber and Hamilton DNFing. That would reignite the title battle royale to an extent.

Anyone care to hedge their bets on how the Bulls will do? This will be, theoretically, their weakest circuit yet.

I would not rule RB out of the top 4
the F-duct is a big advantage Mclaren has( assuming they have the best one) -which is now gone.
I would think it will be a mix up between all 3 teams with one of the Renaults hunting for a pound of flesh
A RB will be on the podium at the end of the race im sure of it.
and that's what this race is for them - damage limitation

the new floor test for monza will of course show who had flexible friends ...as these will likely have new Splitter fixation means..as already hinted by Aldo Costa.

I see Ferrari in Front of Mclaren in monza ..as macs could struggle with the curbs.

I think Hamilton is on for a win here, although the Ferrari rides the kerbs well, nobody attacks them like Hamilton. He also seems to have literally no fear around here. I don't think any teams will run the f-duct as they wont be running enough downforce to need it. I will go out on a limb and say Sutil will take third.

We say the Macca can't run over the kerbs, but if you look back at Canada, Hamilton was absolutely supreme over the kerbs of the endless chicanes of Sectors 1 and 2 there.

Good point also remember the kurbs changed in 2009. They added the sausage style lumps meaning a lot less riding was possible.

Who will have fresh engines for Monza? That could make a difference.

Mclaren will be strong of course, but the Force Indias straight line speed is shocking (suti passed the works mercedes cars so easly) and to me I think they have a chance of a win.
