I beg to differ JET, Manchild's post tells a tale. I find it obvious that by now Daimler is desperate to get out of it's poorly judged attempt as a factory team and return to it's role as engine-supplier only, why RBR must be a very tempting lure.JohnsonsEvilTwin wrote:With all due respect Manchild, the daimler/renault/nissan tie up will have nothing to do with F1. It was not part of the deal.
What may happen is that Nissan pump up a load of cash for Mercedes engine specs, and they will then supply to Red BULL(No this isnt a swear word) under the guise of Nissan under Mercedes auspices circumventing the Mclaren veto.
But Nissan AMG? Not a chance.
The McLaren veto is often referred to, especially by Haug, who, several times has claimed that McLaren have vetoed supply of engines to Red Bull, etc. Yet Dennis and Whitmarsh have also said that McLaren have NEVER used their veto. But I cannot see Nissan entering F1 under ANY guise.xpensive wrote:I beg to differ JET, Manchild's post tells a tale. However, the McLaren veto is an obstacle but could possibly be circumvented by an AMG/Renault/Nissan/RBR deal?
This is where you are wrong JET, all it takes to bring Nissan to F1 is some Renault engines and new valvecovers,JohnsonsEvilTwin wrote:

F1 was never discussed in the tie up, and bringing Nissan to the table in F1 would take alot more than a Parts sharing venture and a team bemoaning(wrongly IMO) their Renault powerplant.
Sigh...for as much as I appreciate your posts JET, sometimes I wonder if you even bother to properly read mine?xpensive wrote:This is where you are wrong JET, all it takes to bring Nissan to F1 is some Renault engines and new valvecovers,JohnsonsEvilTwin wrote:

remember Yamaha (Judd), Subaru (Motori Moderni), Petronas & Acer (Ferrari) and even bloody Mercedes (Ilmor)!
What I learned was that Mercedes is to go back to be engine-supplier for a winning team only, why swapping engines will result in an official RBR-Mercedes and MGP becoming AMG-Nissan with Renaults featuring valvecovers labelled "2800ZX".
