So they are built like tanks.

Knowing this, would the hard compound do two race distances?

And seeing how the softs could do one race distance but had to be replaced on the last lap, will the hards that were used for just one lap reused or scrapped?

After the fantastic win in Spa, Hamilton really suck again in Monza. Last year he blew his tyre and this year he broke his steering on the opening lap. I have great respect for Hamilton but this is one of the worst drive I have seen in recent times.

Alonso, Button, Vettel and Rosberg were all great. no mistakes and just full on commitment to get the best out of what the car has to offer.

Congrats to Alonso, he was the only one who is able to pressure Button while keeping speedy Massa behind. Don't know about you guys, but i find Massa is just not as committed as Alonso. Both Ferrari drivers are equally fast but only one of the two understand the meaning of not giving up.

Schumacher is not as good as his teammate throughout this year. As a fan, I can either believe that the car was designed for Button and he has to wait till next year. OR... I guess he is not that good anymore. OR... he is just cruising and waiting for next year. I don't know... but I do hope for better stuff from him next year and I believe if he does not make it next year, then he is out of excuses and confirms that he is 2nd to his teammate.

An exciting race, a great, deserved and very much needed victory for Ferrari and Alonso!
No such atmosphere anywhere else like at Monza.

I'm surprised at that too. the so called "option" tyres can finish the race. I wonder what it will be like next year with Pirelli supplies the tyres.

Hopefully the difference is greater, so you can go three seconds a lap faster on the soft tire but have to put a lot more frequently. It would make it much more exciting.

Can you finish a race in the pits like Schumacher did once way back then with his penalty? Or was that loophole fixed?
Do you guys think the compulsory tire change rule should be abolished?

Apparently not enough to warrant a nose change. :?

Hamilton: Hard blood, heat of the moment mistake and that's it. The blame was not all his, Massa could have given more room, but why should he ?

Lewis should've been a wee tiny bit more patient. But the championship has gotten a lot more exciting, hasn't it ? Now we're off to a track where Red Bull is expected to be mega again, and Hamilton has done good there in the past too.

That was probably aided a bit because of relatively slow middle part of the race for Vettel, when he suspected engine damage, but either way it is too much!

There's absolutely no space for two cars thru Roggia.

I think all mandatory pit stops have to completed by the 2nd last lap so Red Bull left it as late as possible and it paid off.

The soft tyres lasted as Monza is not a high tyre wear circuit due to the long straights.

If Massa was looking in his mirrors he would have likely collected the cars in front of him. He was right in sticking to his line, plus, the cars turn very sharply from one way to another there, so I have to put all the blame on Hamilton as he should have known this and not been so agro to take a place at the start.

The damage to Buttons car is on BBC 1 right now. Looks like the lower quarter to the left rear wing end plate. Couldn't make out the diffuser but the rear wing was very clear. Can any engineers confirm how much of a difference this would have made?

A fifth and a ninth must be like a 1-2 for a die hard Mercedes fan these days, eh JET? But not to worry my man,
you will be in the winner's circle in Germany next year with that Ferrari-outfit!
Hey could have been 4th with if the soft tyre was actually SOFT!
But not bad either way...hardly rubbish.

I was actually sawing-logs and missed the start (actually the first 20 laps ). By the sounds of it someone was trying too hard to erase a bad qualifying session on the first lap. I am so cheesed I missed the opening laps.
